On the 20th of May, 2024 the NPI Engagement Manager Mr. Abhinav Joshi on behalf of the institute attended a program at Smriti Bhawan, TU, Kirtipur which was organized by CEDA entitled “Harnessing Regional Synergies for Development and Prosperity in BIMSTEC Region”. The program was attended by the presence of H.E. Mr. Indra Mani Pandey, the secretary general of BIMSTEC and also by the Vice-Chancellor of TU.
The program in addition to introducing “BIMSTEC” also had a panel discussion on the significance of the organization in various aspects to the member state in regards to regional cooperation, finance/trade and media. The program also acted as a platform to not only learn of such a vital regional organization but also as one to connect various think tanks together.
While BIMSTEC has prioritized seven sectors each led by a particular member country, as mentioned by the Secretary General, regardless of which country is the lead for a particular sector, it is vital to understand the perspectives of each country and to understand that every country has a role to play in it.
