Prof. Achyut Wagle has a PhD in Economics from IIT Kanpur, a MSc (Merit) from Birmingham Business School, and a MA in Development Studies from Tribhuwan University

His substantial professional experiences have included, among others, serving as an Advisor to: (i) the Prime Minister of Nepal, (ii) the Governor of the central bank of Nepal, and (iii) the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of the Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

Since 2008 Prof. Wagle has also been a member of the OECD’s International Network on Financial Education. He has provided consultancy services to multilateral organizations such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and since 2012 has also been a weekly Columnist for Kantipur Publications Pvt. Ltd. (Nepal’s largest newspaper group).

His contributions in the field of public policy analysis in Nepal are significant.
